Dark Alpha’s Fury (Reapers #16) by Donna Grant

5 Stars

What a finish!

Wow!  For this last book in the Reapers series, Donna Grant has given us the final Reaper, Aisling, who has been following the Fae Xanath for several books.  This gives us the ending of a story arc that has covered numerous books, going back to when Usaeil was Queen of the Light Fae. With the evil that is trying to destroy the Reapers, and take over Earth, we get to enjoy appearances from other Reapers, Death, and some Dragon Kings.  Well written, with an exciting plotline, I enjoyed this book as much as Balladyn’s.  The authors blub for this book hints that even though this series is complete, we will probably still see some of them in her new series, the Skye Druids, which is also a part of her larger Dark World.  A fitting finale for the Reapers, I look forward to continue reading books set in this expansive world.  I was given an ARC of the book by the author through BookFunnel, and this is my honest opinion.

Dark Alpha’s Fury (Reapers #16) by Donna Grant Releasing Tomorrow!

From New York Times bestselling author Donna Grant comes another gripping story in her Reaper series featuring a brotherhood of elite assassins who wage war on the Fae at Death’s behest—and the women who dare to love them.

There is no escaping the Reapers—or me. If you succumb to evil, you will be judged. And we will come for you…

I’ve known the torment of being trapped, of battling monsters—both outside and within. But I’ve also known the peace and completeness of holding the one I was meant for in my arms. Unfortunately, she’s not intended for me. I am destined for one thing and one thing only: eradicating the evil that plagues our world. Once I deal with my nemesis, maybe I can finally rest. Even if it means my soul being reaped by the strong, beautiful, and utterly captivating woman who makes my heart beat like no other. But I’m not sure even that is possible. Because I am no longer merely a Fae. I am something else altogether.

Dragon Lover: A Dragon Kings Novella (Dragon Kings #5) by Donna Grant

5 Stars

More surprises on Zora

In this 5th book of the current series, Dragon Kings, we meet Kendrick, King of the Sienna’s, one of the Dragon Kings from Earth who has made his way to the planet Zora where all the Earth dragons were sent to in the past.  He is patrolling along the edge of dragon land when he encounters the new foe, an invisible powerhouse, who attacks him.  He is almost defeated by this entity, when a group of mortals, Asavori Rangers, come to his assistance.  Led by a woman, Esha, the group manages to drive it away.  Kendrick had crossed into the adjoining territory of Idrias which he finds is the home of the Asavori Rangers who are also elves.  The story takes off from this beginning into an interesting look at another part of Zora and its inhabitants.  Donna Grant continues to develop the world of Zora, intertwining the Dragon Kings with not just their own descendants but the other groups living there.  Not all is peaceful and happy.  But each book adds to the quilt that Donna is making.  Both main characters are well developed, and the book is novella length.  Dragon Lover could be read as a standalone but will be much more enjoyable after reading the prior books in this series.  For the best experience, a new reader should go all the way back to the beginning of Donna Grant’s Dark World.  Well written, with a good plot and characters, I am looking forward to the next book.  I was given an ARC by the author through BookFunnel and this is my honest opinion.

A Warrior for Christmas (Dark Warriors, #10) by Donna Grant

5 Stars

One of my favorite series!

For her readers this Christmas, Donna Grant has written a short novella about the Warriors, who are part of my favorite series, Dark Sword and Dark Warriors.  Each chapter gives the reader a glimpse into one Warrior and his mate and their lives at MacLeod Castle.  And underlying these chapters is a thread of forgiveness for one who betrayed them centuries ago.  As a bonus, Donna Grant gives us the recipe for the featured food or drink item that the couples consume.  This is a great novella, one that Donna’s fans have been waiting for.  For the most enjoyment in reading this, the reader should have already read the prior books in the series.  I hope that the author will keep adding in these characters into her current series, the Dragon Kings.  I was given an ARC of the book from the author, and this is my honest opinion.

Rage (Kindred: The Fated Book 1) by Donna Grant

5 Stars

New Kindred trilogy

This is the first book in a new trilogy dealing with the situations left from the original Kindred series written by Donna Grant.  The writing style is very similar to how the original books were written, and several characters from that series are mentioned in this new book.  We meet Elin, who is a witch on the run from the Coven, a group of witches who are determined to dominate their world.  She lost her sister to the Coven, and she wants no part of them and their schemes.  She has stopped running for a short time, squatting in an out of the way hunting cabin, hoping to recover some of her strength and come up with a plan to keep away from the witches hunting her.  The cabin is on Mackenzie land, and the brother of the Laird, Rob Mackenzie decides to find out who has been using the abandoned cabin.  As any book written by Donna Grant, there are issues for the main characters to overcome, and a larger challenge that has to be addressed.  This book is well written, with a good plotline and character development.  A very enjoyable read, I am looking forward to book 2 of The Fated.  I was given an ARC by the author to read, and this is my honest opinion.

Iron Ember (Skye Druids #1) by Donna Grant

Iron Ember blurb

Delve into the thrilling first installment of the all-new Skye Druids series by New York Times bestselling author Donna Grant, where magic reigns and danger abounds.

Skye isn’t just an island. It’s a home. A refuge. But not to Elodie MacLean. Not anymore. Tragedy tore her world apart and then took the one thing she felt made her whole. She vowed she’d never return, but that’s exactly where she ends up. Now, surrounded by the ghosts of her past, Elodie must navigate her version of Hell and try to make peace with herself and her family. But someone or something doesn’t want her on Skye, and she finds herself attacked—and this time not by her personal demons.

Scott Ryan has a mission: uncover who has been killing Druids and why. When his quest takes him to the beautiful Isle of Skye, he doesn’t think anything could captivate him more than the land itself—until he lays eyes on the breathtaking and confident beauty his leader sent him to find. However, it’s clear that she has trust issues, and he can’t reveal his plans—at least, not yet. But he’s always been sure of his ability to sway a person, and she’s a challenge he’s more than happy to accept, especially when he finds he will do anything to protect her.

With so much history and so many secrets, victory is anything but guaranteed for the couple and their allies. And the forces at work, those who wish to rule the Scottish isle and all those who reside there, have a plan that nobody will see coming.

Iron Ember (Skye Druids #1) by Donna Grant

5 Stars

Dark World continuation

This is the first book of the Skye Druids series, but follows immediately after Dark Alpha’s Command.  In this book we meet Elodie MacLean, who has come back to Skye to help her sister get their parents’ house ready to sell.  A terrible tragedy happened over a decade prior, but since neither sister, nor an absent brother plan on living in the house it needs to be cleaned, repaired and sold.  Elodie is a druid, but her magic has been gone since the tragic event.  She meets Scot Ryan, and the brother of his best friend are on Skye, having come from Edinburgh to try and solve the murders of Druids there.  They are looking for Elodie, and when they meet her, and hear she is looking for help to get the cottage repaired, they offer their services.  Donna Grant weaves an interesting story reminiscent of her earlier Dark World books.  She plots out an intricate storyline for the reader to follow, and while following we get glimpses of other characters from prior books.  I can say that the start of this book dragged for me-I couldn’t figure out who these characters were and why they were important.  But Donna Grant had a plot, and it is full of twists and turns, and leads the reader to a satisfying conclusion.  I received and ARC of this book from the author through BookFunnel and this is my honest opinion.

RELEASE DAY! Dark Alpha’s Command by Donna Grant

From New York Times bestselling author Donna Grant® comes another action-packed installment in her thrilling Reaper series, featuring a brotherhood of elite assassins who wage war on the Fae at Death’s behest—and the women who dare to love them.

There is no escaping a Reaper. I am an elite assassin, part of a brotherhood that only answers to Death. And when Death says your time is up, I’m coming for you…

I’ve been a part of so many different worlds I’m not sure who I am or where I fit in anymore. Honestly, with everything I’ve been through, being called across realms and encountering the beautiful Druid who instantly captures my attention—and my heart—shouldn’t have surprised me. But it did. Not as much as discovering how it feels to brush against her magic, however. Now, we must navigate these new waters and fight against our latest threat, hoping that our combined power and that of our allies is enough to defeat our foe. Because the Fae Others want to end the Reapers, the Dragon Kings, and take over the realm, and their leader is one of the most formidable enemies we’ve ever faced. The battle won’t be easy, but with this strong, resilient mortal by my side and some help from our friends, it’s a fight I’m more than willing to enter—as long as it means she’s by my side. Forever.
